There is a clear profit bias issue in pharmaceutical research that needs addressing. It’s extremely important we come together and use sound, unbiased research to determine how best to help and support new mothers. Don’t get me wrong. This is an excellent area of focus...but it another pill really the answer? What about pre- and post-natal home visiting programs that show amazing success? No side effects there.

Hi Elliot, thanks for the comment. Sorry for the delayed response here. I couldn't agree with you more. While drugs are a necessary part of the solution, the sad reality is that the system is currently geared towards researching + commercializing drugs over social treatments. There are probably strong economic reasons for this.

On a related side note, there's a company called Together Senior Health (https://www.togetherseniorhealth.com/) which helps adults with cognitive decline by providing live streamed classes. Although offered digitally, these kinds of programs can be very effective treatments for certain diseases. Hopefully, we will see more of them start and scale. But to change the system, we're going to need policies that shift the incentives.
